Welcome to The Great Solar Giveaway! IDEAS For Us is helping to facilitate FREE solar panels to the community for any person, organization, business, or hobbyist to access. An Orlando group is switching out their useful, older solar panels and we want to keep as many of them out of the landfill as possible and that is where you come in! We are excited to see what you can do with them! Over the past 15 years, IDEAS has worked to educate, engage, and empower people through innovative environmental awareness solutions. Energy is one of our Five Pillars and have graciously partnered with our community to bring you the The Great Solar Giveaway.
The Great Solar Giveaway 2024 event will help us reuse, recycle, and divert over 6,000 solar panels from the landfill and put them back into practical uses across the Central Florida region! We call on community groups and members across the State of Florida to take advantage of this opportunity!
Practical uses for these panels DC applications:

☀️ LED string lights or LED outdoor lights
☀️ Small irrigation pump
☀️ Education, Training, and Demonstration

*The panels are at least 19 years old.

Step 3: Pick up the panels with your own vehicle.
Step 4: Record how many panels that you actually picked up via the second form at the bottom of this webpage.
*Must sign up through a form for the actual address to be shared.
*Must be able to pick up, move, and transport panels safely without assistance.

Monetary donations are being collected to help fund construction and installation of solar lighting and irrigation pumps for a village in Kenya through our IDEAS for Us Kenya Branch in partnership with Friends of Dago. If interested, please donate via this button below.
