Become a Business & Farmer's Market Intern

Interning for the Fleet Farming program is ideal for someone who is passionate about local, organic food and interested in furthering their experience in the field of business and farmer’s market vending. Interns will assist on location with business planning, organization, research, and/or management of projects associate with this department. Through the program, the intern will learn about sustainability, urban agriculture, brand development, time management, effectively working in groups, community outreach, and much more.

Applicants should be eager to learn, hard working with a positive attitude, and have a sense of humor. All duties & responsibilities listed below are facilitated under close observation through a mentor-trainee relationship.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Some experience in working in business settings
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Positive attitude, sense of humor is a plus
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • College student

Duties may include one or some of the following:

  • Data entry on our lead management system, Tave (no previous experience required)
  • Research on business strategies and community engagement
  • Clerical Work: scanning, managing Google Drive, creating email templates, etc.
  • Content creation: light photography and social media management
  • Light graphic design work via Canva for brand development
  • Brainstorming how to improve the business model of our program
