Goal:
IDEAS For Uganda also organized Sixteen (16) energy access talks in Kamuli, Kasese, Mubende, Lira, Kampala and Gulu Districts with IDEAS For Us Vice President. These were aimed at establishing facts about energy access in Uganda to guide us in the forthcoming strategic planning for accessible clean energy by Ugandan communities. Intensive talks were organized with rural community members, urban centers dwellers, schools, and local government leaders of the above Districts, Uganda investment authority (UIA), Energy regulatory authority (ERA), Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources, UMEME and other local energy consultancy companies in Uganda. Field visits to solar Mini-grid projects were made in Kayanzi-Kasese managed by the local community, Gulu and Lira managed by Bosco-Uganda which boosted our knowledge on strides already taken in promoting clean energy access, and gaps that need wide investments by potential stakeholders.
