IDEAS For UCF Help Fill 250,000 Plastic Bottles in Pond for Waste Awareness

UCF Student Government Association, UCF Recycles, Advanced Disposal, and IDEAS For UCF have teamed up to make a bold statement about plastic waste on campus. Representing how much plastic bottle waste is created at the school in a single day, they enlisted volunteers to help fill the university’s Reflecting Pond with nearly 250,000 plastic bottles. The initiative was led by SGA’s Health and Sustainability Coordinator, Emily Dovydaitis.

The event was covered by several local media outlets. Watch the video report by the Orlando Sentinel here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/features/jon-busdeker/os-plastic-bottles-ucf-pond-post.html
