Catch a Glimpse of Electric Motorcycle Racing

The electric world of motorcycle racing captivates enthusiasts seeking the best performance and skill from teams and riders. Last fall, we covered an interview with Jeremiah Johnson after capturing 2nd place in the MotoE European Electric Motorcycle Championship. Coming up on June 25th is the 95th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC). This day, Johnson and the University of Nottingham (UoN) team plan to race up the course on a powerful electric motorcycle. We caught the opportunity to follow Johnson and the UoN team so you could plug into the story as it unfolds.

PPIHC is a 12.42 mile-long climb to the summit of Pikes Peak, Colorado. In recent years, PPIHC has welcomed 100% electric vehicles into the ranks. Within those years, both car and motorcycle EV’s have been duking it out against the top-performing gas counterparts for the fastest times – 2016 results.

The UoN engineers along with Johnson are getting ready for a remarkable journey. We are going to stay close to the action coming from Johnson and the UoN team, so we ask that you follow us as the story unfolds. Look forward to a series of blogs for interviews, highlighted developments, and hopefully a recap after that one-day event.
