2016 Walk for Trees Results

Last Sunday, April 10, The City of Orlando and IDEAS For Us welcomed participants to a modern environmental event. Runners and walkers of the 5k enjoyed the beautiful sights of Lake Baldwin, as well as a showcase of music, food, and community.

The Office of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer helped kick off the event to emphasize how this was Orlando’s inaugural event to create more canopy coverage. For those who haven’t heard of this program, the One Person One Tree initiative is committed to increasing Orlando’s tree canopy from 27% to 40% by 2040. At Walk For Trees, every registrant received one free tree from a selection of trees. We asked that they planted this tree in their favorite location to help make Orlando a better, and greener place.

What a way to kick off Earth Month. We want to thank our participants and sponsors for helping us make Walk for Trees the biggest, most tree-productive planting Orlando has to offer. Check out the top racers’ times and places from the Sunday event below.

Check out the winners of the race below and we’ll see you next year for the 2017 Walk For Trees!
