The White House & City of Orlando invite IDEAS to Sustainability Round-Table

A few weeks ago, the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) emailed us asking to help coordinate a roundtable discussion with Chair and Obama’s point person to the environment, Nancy Sutley, and emerging professionals throughout Central Florida to discuss issues surrounding Sustainability, Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

On October 3rd, IDEAS leaders got the chance to attend the “State Of The Downtown Address” from Orlando’s Mayor, Buddy Dyer. The morning was filled with local professionals in long lines waiting for the caffeinated coffee to be refilled and presentations from various sponsors, including hosts Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP).  In addition, CEQ Chair Sutley spoke, recognizing the great strides Orlando is making to become a showcase for sustainability.

Following the breakfast, 5 IDEAS leaders had the chance to sit in on a high-level roundtable with local government, industry professionals and White House correspondents to discuss the future of Sustainability for Central Florida.

From PACE to Workforce Development, major challenges were addressed and excellent feedback was provided from professionals in the room.  Overall, IDEAS made greats connections and initiated our partnership with  Orlando’s Green Works program.
