National NPR is featuring Fleet Farming Today at 5pm EST.

Fleet Farming is an urban farming program developed by IDEAS For Us that converts lawns into organic farms and uses bike power to bring fresh produce to local venues.

Through volunteer bike rides called “The Swarm”, people in the community help to build, manage, harvest, process, and sell the produce to local restaurants and farmers markets.

After starting Orlando just 2 years ago, Fleet Farming has developed an expansion toolkitand is growing in Oakland, CA and Kampala, Uganda.
